I found the State of The Union Address by the President very enlightening, and riveting. Being Canadian I find American politics interesting and certainly newsworthy.
For those who were unable to watch or read about the address I decided to quote some of the president’a four focus points:

“First how do we give everyone a fair shot at opportunity and security in the new economy?

second, how do we make technology work for us and not against us especially when it comes to solving urgent challenges like climate change?

Third, how do we keep America safe and lead the world without becoming its policeman?

and finally how can we make our politics reflect what’s best in us and not what’s worst?”

He also said, “It doesn’t work if we think people who disagree with us are all motivated by malice, or that our political opponents are unpatriotic.”

His biggest regret was failure to ease the persistent deep division between democrats and republicans.

All well said, President Obama

I have found a new interest. And that is tweeting. My talented web designer, Laura who I also like to call my friend, suggested that I start tweeting. She felt that it would be one way of telling people about my book. Of course with everything there is a learning curve. But I’ve always enjoyed a challenge. And I’m having a lot of fun with it. I love retweeting information from my followers who appear to be a very talented group of individuals.

Hello everyone. Apologize for not blogging sooner. But here I am. Better late than never as the saying goes.

Just went to see the movie Revenant with Leonardo decaprio and Tom Hardy. I reviewed a synopsis of the storyline. Which I like to do before seeing a movie. And today was a Tuesday special, so off I went. I am not a movie critic but will give you a summary so you can decide if you perhaps would also enjoy seeing it. Acting is superb. I see Oscar nominations for both Leonardo and Tom Which would be rightly deserved. The cinematography is exceptional and I predict a nomination for this as well. What did bother me was the bear attack. Perhaps a little too long and graphic. I had to shut my eyes a few times throughout. It was so realistic that Leonardo’s mental and physical pain is quite palpable. And you live his pain throughout the movie. But then everyone will have a different opinion.

There were a few areas in the movie where the killings were quite graphic. But again you will have to decide for yourself.

Today I visited one of my favourite sites: Allan’s Gardens. There my eyes got to feast on a lovely collection of plants and flowers. The colors and the settings were magnificent thanks to a talented group of staff who with a magical touch created an oasis in the city. As you may know I enjoy tweeting, and my tweets usually are sent from different landmarks and interesting tourist areas in Toronto.
